Robert Koltai is the founding member of Hain Capital Group. Mr. Koltai pioneered the trading of rejected leasehold and contract claims in bankruptcy. Since 1992, he has served as a distressed analyst at both sell side and buy side institutions.

From 1992-1995, Mr. Koltai served as a Senior Vice President for Oppenheimer & Co., Inc. in the High Yield/Distressed groups where he managed and administered the bankruptcy claims trading group. He hired and trained a staff, systematized a methodology for sourcing product and negotiated the purchase of more than $1 billion in trade claims.

Mr. Koltai has contributed to law review articles on bankruptcy claims trading and has worked for the United States Bankruptcy Court in the Central District of California. Mr. Koltai holds a BA in History from the University of California, Berkeley and received his JD from the Loyola Law School in Los Angeles.
